CVector raises $1.5M for industrial AI data backbone
CVector Energy has closed a $1.5 million pre-seed round led by Schematic Ventures. The company is developing a time-series AI platform designed for factories and critical infrastructure, bringing high-fidelity asset data together with external signals such as energy prices, weather, and market conditions.
Why it matters for operations teams
CVector targets a long-standing bottleneck: legacy data stacks weren’t built for AI or fast-changing operating environments. By unifying asset and market data, the platform aims to support real-time decisions and more reliable automation.
“CVector is building the brain and nervous system for industrial assets. We’re giving operators and engineers a foundation to plug in AI, understand system-wide behavior, and act with speed and precision. This round will help us bring that capability to even more mission-critical environments.”
Richard Zhang, co-founder and CEO
What the new capital will fund
Fresh funding will go toward team expansion, product development, and scaling deployments across energy, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing sites. The roadmap includes features to let operators plug in AI agents, run hybrid physics-informed models, and deploy self-healing troubleshooting tools.
Security remains a priority: CVector achieved ISO 27001 certification in June 2025 and reports that SOC 2 Type II is in progress.
From insight to action at the edge
A core design principle is adaptability to site-specific workflows. The system learns from operator behavior to deliver context-aware recommendations and faster root-cause analysis.
“We go far beyond data collection. With CVector, operators can run complex techno-economic modeling at the edge. It’s not just about insight—it’s about automated action and real operational lift.”
Dr. Tyler Ruggles, co-founder and CTO
Inside CVector
Founded in November 2024 by engineers and researchers from Shell and CERN, CVector is already deployed from R&D labs to brownfield assets. The platform supports AI-native operations, enabling teams to troubleshoot, simulate, and optimize complex systems where they run.
The company is headquartered in Providence, RI, with offices in New York, NY, and Frankfurt, Germany.
Who’s backing the company
Schematic Ventures led the round. The firm focuses on early-stage investments in supply chain, manufacturing, and industrial technologies.
“CVector is solving one of the most fundamental gaps in industrial AI: making operational data truly usable. Their platform is purpose-built for factories and field environments. We believe CVector will be foundational infrastructure for the autonomous industrial systems of tomorrow.”
