Strawberry, an agentic browser with built-in AI companions, has raised $6 million in funding. General Catalyst and EQT Ventures led the round, with participation from the founders of Lovable, Supabase, and Hugging Face.

The company is also launching an upgraded version of its browser with new features. Early access will be limited to select customers, with broader onboarding planned monthly.

Addressing the AI Accessibility Gap

While enterprise companies deploy AI through million-dollar budgets and multi-year projects, freelancers, startups, and small businesses need solutions that work right away. Current AI tools demand technical expertise, force users to abandon their entire workflow, or trap them in standalone interfaces disconnected from the browser—where work actually happens.

Strawberry embeds AI directly into browsing, creating an intelligent workspace that adapts to how each person works.

“The browser is a tool most people use daily and know intimately. By giving Strawberry powerful AI features out of the box, we’re making AI automation accessible to everyone. This funding helps us continue our mission to help modern workers love what they do and skip their busywork.”

Funding AI Development and Team Growth

The financing will fuel expansion across engineering and design to support rapid iteration with Strawberry’s growing beta community. The company is developing increasingly sophisticated agentic capabilities that enable AI companions to navigate complex, multi-step workflows within the browser environment. These range from comprehensive market research to lead generation across password-protected platforms.

With the new capital, Strawberry aims to accelerate product development and expand its technical team to meet growing demand from early users.

Why Investors Are Backing the Browser-First Approach

Yuri Sagalov, Partner at General Catalyst, said: “The browser is fast becoming the front line for AI, and the Strawberry team is at the center of that shift. Their user-centric design and Charles’s ability to galvanize a community give them what we think is a leading edge to capture value in this rapidly evolving market.”

The investors were drawn to both the technology and the team behind it. Sandra Malmberg, Partner at EQT Ventures, said: “We got to know Charles even before Strawberry was founded, and were struck by his passion for AI and sharp perspective where it was headed.” Gustav von Sydow, Partner at EQT Ventures, added: “Their ambition to build at global scale, infectious passion and ability to attract exceptional talent made it an easy decision to become their first investor.”

Building Momentum with Early Users

Strawberry’s no-code approach to AI assistant creation has already demonstrated strong market validation. Early users are deploying custom companions for diverse applications, from competitive intelligence gathering to sales prospecting.

The platform has earned recognition as Product of the Day and Product of the Week on Product Hunt. As one beta user noted: “This is like nothing I’ve ever tried before.”

The company signals a broader shift from sterile, corporate AI tools toward personalized companions that bring both capability and personality to work. By transforming routine tasks into collaborative experiences, Strawberry is redefining what it means to work alongside AI.

About the Company

Strawberry is building the self-driving browser that empowers everyone to work on the things they care about by offloading the rest. Born in Stockholm, the company was founded by a deeply technical team driven to bring the power of AI beyond developers and into the hands of everyday users.

The platform streamlines repetitive digital work such as flipping between countless tabs, moving data across tools, populating sheets, and writing variations of the same messages. It adapts to each user’s unique workflows and context.
