Echo, a startup specializing in enterprise-grade software infrastructure powered by artificial intelligence, has secured $15 million in a seed funding round. Notable Capital and Hyperwise Ventures led the investment, joined by SVCI.

Echo addresses the escalating challenge of cybersecurity vulnerabilities, a pressing issue as AI-driven development rapidly increases software creation rates. Recent data indicates a 34% rise in vulnerability exploitation and a 61% year-over-year increase in identified software weaknesses.

Echo utilizes AI to eliminate vulnerabilities from container base images, which serve as fundamental building blocks of software applications.

Proactively Addressing Vulnerabilities with AI

Echo employs AI-driven agents that analyze standard open-source container images, recreate clean, secure versions from scratch, and continuously patch them in response to new vulnerabilities. This approach ensures images maintain full functionality with significantly fewer vulnerabilities, thus reducing attack surfaces considerably.

Streamlining Security Management

“Echo was born out of a broken system,” said Eilon Elhadad, Co-Founder and CEO. “Today’s tools chase and prioritize vulnerabilities rather than solve the root of the problem. Our clean images enable companies to build on secure infrastructure, and our AI agents make sure it stays that way. We’ve reduced remediation timelines from an industry average of 120 days to just 24 hours – a transformative turnaround that’s reflected in customers’ existing scanners and CNAPPs.”

Echo also simplifies FedRAMP compliance for cloud companies aiming for U.S. Federal Government contracts by offering ready-to-deploy, FIPS-validated images. Unlike traditional solutions, Echo’s approach doesn’t force clients to switch operating systems, facilitating an easy implementation process.

Rapid Expansion and Strategic Growth

Echo plans to use the new funds to advance product development, accelerate market expansion, and scale its engineering and sales teams. With a proven track record, Echo will focus on entering new markets and continuously innovating its vulnerability-free container infrastructure.

“Vulnerability management is a $17 billion industry. By offering secure-by-design infrastructure, it could unlock billions annually – not to mention the downstream cost savings of preventing potential breaches,” said Oren Yunger, Managing Partner at Notable Capital. Nathan Shuchman, Managing Partner at Hyperwise Ventures, added, “Echo gives businesses the luxury of not worrying about how to manage vulnerabilities.”

Echo’s Innovative Path

Echo was founded by cybersecurity experts Eilon Elhadad and Eylam Milner, previously co-creators of Argon, a company acquired by Aqua Security. Echo stands out for delivering infrastructure that’s inherently secure, drastically reducing vulnerability remediation timeframes and operational costs.

Scott Roberts, CISO of UiPath, emphasized Echo’s impact: “Echo’s product is a game changer for us. The vulnerability-free container base images have immediately cut our patching workload, saving us significant time and money.”
