SignalWire, the leader in Programmable Unified Communications (PUC), today announced the open beta of its fully open source Call Fabric SDK and Reference App. This milestone release empowers developers to quickly build, customize, and launch modern communications apps, including intelligent solutions powered by the SignalWire Voice AI Agent across web, iOS, and Android.

The new Call Fabric SDK is JavaScript-based, with React Native adaptors for mobile, enabling rapid development of real-time voice, video, chat, and AI-powered agent experiences. The open source Reference App showcases the latest Call Fabric features: subscribers, rooms, audio, video, screen sharing, and chat APIs. We provide developers a robust foundation to create anything from click-to-call widgets to full-featured UCaaS or voice AI applications.

“SignalWire was founded to put Programmable Unified Communications in the hands of developers,” said Anthony Minessale, CEO and co-founder of SignalWire. “With our new SDK and Reference App, we’re removing barriers and giving builders a truly open, flexible platform to bring advanced communications and Voice AI solutions to life on their terms.”

Highlights of the SDK and Reference App:

  • Open source, developer-first: Access all code on GitHub, with detailed quickstart guides and API documentation.
  • Cross-platform support: Build for web today; iOS and Android coming soon via React Native adaptors.
  • Advanced capabilities: Easily create voice, video, chat, and Voice AI Agent apps.
  • Enterprise-ready: Includes OAuth, secure onboarding, and responsive UI components.
  • Community-driven: Submit feedback and pull requests on GitHub; get support via SignalWire Discord and Slack channels.

SignalWire’s new SDK and Reference App are in open beta. Developers are encouraged to explore the code, report bugs, suggest features, and help shape the platform’s future. Upcoming roadmap features include expanded messaging (SMS, MMS, WhatsApp) and advanced AI integrations like IVR, transcription, and summarization.
