Even with a range of AI tools available, scaling their use remains a challenge. For example, Microsoft 365 Copilot, launched two years ago, has seen slow adoption. Experts note that most companies are still experimenting or have only rolled it out to a small portion of their staff. Very few have integrated it across entire organizations.

Several factors contribute to these hurdles. Security concerns and the need for strong governance make companies hesitant. There’s also the challenge of training staff to use these new tools effectively. Additionally, many organizations struggle to see a clear return on investment, which slows plans for larger rollouts.

Experts believe that overcoming these barriers will depend on building trust. Leaders need to establish solid governance, security, and observability measures to ensure AI tools are reliable and safe. Privacy and data security remain top worries for many organizations.

As companies develop better frameworks for deploying AI responsibly, adoption is expected to increase. More organizations are testing and deploying AI agents, and the number of businesses integrating these tools is poised to grow significantly in the coming year. Still, progress will require addressing the fundamental issues that currently slow down widespread use.
