BotGauge AI, a US based autonomous quality assurance company, has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Surface Ventures. The round also included participation from IA Seed Ventures and Saka Ventures.

The company did not disclose a valuation yet. The new capital positions BotGauge AI to move from early adoption toward broader enterprise use, as demand grows for quality systems that can keep up with modern software development speeds.

Why Software Quality Is Falling Behind

Software teams are shipping code faster than ever. AI-assisted development has shortened release cycles, but quality assurance has not evolved at the same pace. Manual and tool-heavy QA processes often slow teams down or miss issues until after deployment, increasing costs and risk.

BotGauge AI approaches this problem by treating QA as a managed outcome rather than a set of tools. Instead of selling testing software, the company takes responsibility for software quality across the release cycle, combining autonomous testing agents with oversight from QA specialists.

Where the New Capital Will Go

The funding will be used to expand research and development, with a focus on strengthening BotGauge’s autonomous testing agents. These agents are designed to identify testing needs, generate and maintain coverage, and run tests continuously as code changes.

Hiring is another priority. BotGauge AI plans to grow its engineering, product, and AI teams to support more complex deployments and larger customers. The goal is to move faster without increasing QA headcount on the customer side.

From Early Adoption to Enterprise Readiness

In the near term, the company aims to scale across the US and other key markets. Over the next 12 to 24 months, BotGauge AI plans to deepen its engineering capabilities and increase adoption among mid-market and high-growth software companies.

Longer term, the company wants autonomous QA to become a standard layer in software development, supporting frequent releases without sacrificing reliability.

Building an Autonomous QA Partner

BotGauge AI was founded by Pramin Pradeep, Naresh Kumar Rajendran, Vivek Nair, and Sreepad Krishnan Mavila. The founding team brings more than a decade of experience in AI-driven test automation and enterprise QA work.

The company positions itself as a QA partner rather than a vendor. Its AI agents handle test discovery, execution, and maintenance, while in-house QA experts validate results and oversee quality outcomes. This model allows engineering teams to focus on building products instead of managing test systems.

“We’re entering an era where AI redefines reliable, high-velocity software engineering. The real bottleneck today isn’t coding, it’s outdated QA that forces teams to trade speed for quality. Our autonomous agents own the quality lifecycle, test discovery, generation, maintenance, and execution, freeing engineers and experts to focus on innovation and customer impact. This funding accelerates our vision: making autonomous QA the unbreakable foundation for ambitious software organizations.”

Investor Confidence and Early Results

Surface Ventures led the round after evaluating the technical and organizational challenges involved in building autonomous QA for varied customer environments.

“Building autonomous QA for a diverse customer base requires solving complex organizational and technical problems. The BotGauge AI team has the background, intellect, and discipline to solve these problems over time. As a result, we are excited to partner with BotGauge AI as they redefine QA.”

Gyan Kapur, Co-Managing Partner at Surface Ventures

Early customer deployments with Sully.AI, OroLabs, Kitsa, and Ripple have shown measurable results. According to the company, testing coverage increased by 80%, production bugs dropped by around 75%, and release cycles were shortened by up to 50%, all without expanding QA teams.
