BotGauge AI, a US-based company focused on autonomous quality assurance, has raised $2 million in a recent seed funding round. The investment was led by Surface Ventures, with participation from IA Seed Ventures and Saka Ventures. The company has not yet disclosed its valuation. This new funding will help BotGauge move beyond early adopters and target larger enterprise customers as demand for faster, reliable software testing grows.

Addressing Software Quality Challenges

In today’s fast-moving software world, teams are releasing code faster than ever. While AI tools have sped up development cycles, quality assurance has struggled to keep pace. Traditional QA processes often involve manual work or heavy reliance on testing tools, which can slow teams down or miss issues until after deployment. This increases costs and risks for companies.

BotGauge AI offers a different approach by treating QA as a managed outcome rather than just a set of tools. Instead of selling testing software, it takes responsibility for ensuring software quality throughout the release cycle. The company combines autonomous testing agents with oversight from QA specialists, aiming to deliver continuous, reliable testing without bottlenecks.

How the New Capital Will Be Used

The fresh funds will primarily go toward research and development. BotGauge plans to enhance its autonomous testing agents, which are designed to identify testing needs, maintain coverage, and run tests automatically as code changes. Improving these agents means better detection of issues and more efficient testing processes.

The company also intends to expand its team. Hiring will focus on engineering, product development, and AI specialists. The goal is to support more complex deployments and serve larger customers without increasing the QA headcount on their side. This way, software teams can move faster while maintaining high quality.

Growth Plans and Long-Term Vision

In the short term, BotGauge aims to scale its presence across the US and other key markets. Over the next one to two years, the company will focus on growing its engineering capabilities and increasing adoption among mid-sized and high-growth software firms.

Looking further ahead, BotGauge envisions autonomous QA becoming a standard part of software development. The idea is to enable frequent releases without sacrificing reliability, making high-quality software faster and more efficient to produce.

The company was founded by Pramin Pradeep, Naresh Kumar Rajendran, Vivek Nair, and Sreepad Krishnan Mavila. The founding team brings over a decade of experience in AI-driven test automation and enterprise QA. BotGauge positions itself as a true partner in quality, not just a vendor. Its AI agents handle discovery, execution, and maintenance of tests, while in-house QA experts oversee results and ensure quality outcomes.

This collaborative model allows engineering teams to focus on building products rather than managing testing systems. As one of the founders stated, AI is redefining how software quality is achieved in a high-velocity environment. The autonomous agents aim to remove bottlenecks and enable faster, more reliable releases, helping teams innovate and deliver better experiences for their users.
