New LinkedIn Feature Lets You Test and Compare AI Models

LinkedIn is rolling out a new AI tool called Crosscheck that lets users compare different AI models directly on the platform. This feature is designed to give professionals a quick way to see how various AI systems respond to the same prompts. It’s a simple way to understand which AI might work best for different tasks or needs.

How Crosscheck Works

With Crosscheck, users type in a prompt or question, and the tool generates responses from two different AI models. These models come from big names like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. After seeing the responses side by side, users can choose which answer they think is better. Once a choice is made, the platform reveals which AI model produced each response.

According to LinkedIn product manager Hari Srinivasan, the idea is like a blind taste test for AI. It helps users compare responses without bias. Currently, the feature only supports text prompts, but there’s no limit to how many questions can be asked. This makes it a handy tool for testing out AI responses repeatedly.

Data Sharing and Future Plans

While users compare AI responses, LinkedIn also shares anonymized data with the AI companies involved. This information helps these companies understand how their models perform across different professional groups and tasks. It’s part of a broader effort to improve AI’s usefulness in professional settings.

Initially, Crosscheck is available only to LinkedIn Premium subscribers in the United States. However, LinkedIn plans to expand access soon, including more countries and eventually making it available to free users. This move could make AI comparison tools accessible to a much larger audience in the near future.

Overall, this new feature offers a straightforward way for users to experiment with AI models and see how they stack up. It’s a step toward more transparent and interactive AI tools integrated into professional social networks. As AI continues to evolve, features like Crosscheck could become valuable for anyone looking to understand and choose the right AI for their needs.
