The Four Channels of the Windows Insider Program
The program is divided into four channels: Canary, Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. Each channel offers a different experience, from highly technical users to early adopters looking for stable builds.
The Canary Channel is perfect for tech-savvy individuals who can handle unstable builds with little documentation provided. The Dev Channel introduces new features for initial testing, while the Beta Channel offers polished features that will be deployed in the next major Windows release. Finally, the Release Preview Channel provides final testing of an upcoming release with stable builds.
Windows 11 Insider Program Requirements and Channels
Not everyone can participate in the Windows 11 Insider program due to stringent system requirements. If your PC fails to meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11, you cannot join the Windows 11 Insider Program.
The Beta Channel receives new features that will be deployed in the next major release of Windows 11. For example, AMD- and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs get a new AI-based agent in build 26120.5722. This agent can change your settings when you ask it to customize your PC in some way.

Getting Started with the Windows Insider Program
