How Druid AI Is Building Enterprise Automation Around AI Agents

Andreea Pleşea brings nearly two decades of technology and business experience to her work as COO and Co-Founder of Druid AI. Her career has moved through software development, business applications, revenue, customer success, and company operations, giving her a broad view of how technology reaches the organizations that use it.

Druid AI, co-founded in Bucharest in 2018, focuses on enterprise AI solutions. The company builds and orchestrates AI agents that can automate complex business processes, connecting those agents to the systems and workflows organizations already use.

Pleşea’s background stretches from hands-on software development to senior leadership. Before joining Druid AI, she spent nearly a decade at TotalSoft, where she progressed from .NET programmer to Software Development Manager and then Charisma Business Applications Director.

From Software Development to Enterprise AI

At Druid AI, Pleşea has held several senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, and Chief Customer Success Officer. Those positions reflect the range of work involved in bringing enterprise technology from development into day-to-day business use.

Her academic background also includes AI research at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Alongside her work at Druid AI, she serves on the Board of Advisors for Women in Tech Romania, adding technology leadership and research experience to her involvement in the wider industry.

Druid AI’s story began with Liviu Dragan, described as the visionary leader who proposed founding the company. The business was co-founded in Bucharest in 2018, with its focus centered on conversational AI and enterprise technology.

One question in the interview captures the shift at the heart of that journey: “What convinced you at the time that conversational AI could become a core layer of enterprise technology, and how has that original vision evolved as Druid has moved into agentic AI?”

Coordinating Agents, Systems, and Business Workflows

Druid AI’s platform brings together natural language understanding, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, enterprise integrations, workflow automation, analytics, and governance. These pieces give organizations a way to combine language-based interaction with business systems and controlled processes.

The company’s Druid Conductor coordinates multiple specialized agents and systems toward business outcomes. Instead of treating one AI agent as the entire solution, the platform supports a setup where different agents and connected systems can contribute to a larger business process.

Organizations can connect Druid’s agents to enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, ITSM, and human resources systems. That connection matters because business processes often cross several departments and software tools, rather than sitting inside one isolated application.

The platform’s focus reaches beyond conversation. Its capabilities cover the steps that help an organization retrieve information, automate workflows, connect existing software, review activity through analytics, and apply governance to enterprise AI use.

Enterprise Reach and Practical Applications

Druid AI’s technology is used by more than 300 enterprise customers and supported by over 200 global partners. Those figures place the company’s work across a network of organizations and partners rather than limiting it to a single business function.

The applications include employee support, customer service, healthcare, higher education, and shared services. These areas reflect the range of tasks that can involve repeated questions, access to enterprise information, and coordination between people, software, and internal processes.

Employee support can connect workers with business services, while customer service can use AI agents as part of interactions with customers. Healthcare, higher education, and shared services bring the same enterprise focus into other settings, each with its own systems and workflows.

The combination of agents, integrations, workflow automation, analytics, and governance gives Druid AI a clear enterprise direction. Its work is built around helping organizations coordinate complex processes through AI, not simply adding a conversational interface to an existing tool.

Pleşea’s path from .NET programmer at TotalSoft to senior executive and co-founder at Druid AI mirrors the company’s own focus on connecting technical foundations with business outcomes. With Druid AI’s roots in Bucharest, its enterprise platform, more than 300 customers, and over 200 global partners, the company continues to develop its approach to agentic AI for business.
