Numos, an AI platform built for enterprise finance teams, has closed a $4.25 million seed round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Operator Collective. The company’s software integrates with existing finance infrastructure, analyzing transactions across accounting systems, billing tools, data warehouses, and spreadsheets to help organizations make faster, more strategic decisions.

Unlike many AI finance tools that operate as a black box, Numos shows its reasoning at every step. Users can trace the logic behind variance analysis, reconciliations, and quote-to-cash automations. The platform reports 80% faster financial planning and analysis reporting cycles, and says companies close their books in less than half the time.

A Market Still Running on Manual Work

Gartner predicts that embedded AI will drive a 30% faster financial close by 2028. Yet most CFOs remain in the early stages of adoption. The barriers are familiar: concerns about data quality, integration complexity, and AI systems they cannot audit or fully trust. Finance teams are not just analyzing numbers, they are accountable for them. As a result, many still rely on slow, manual processes to pull together insights from disconnected tools.

Numos was founded by Parijat Sarkar and Mitul Tiwari. Parijat served as senior vice president at Zenefits, holding leadership roles across product, growth, and engineering. Mitul holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and spent the past decade building large-scale AI systems at LinkedIn and ServiceNow.

Their combined background in enterprise AI and the office of the CFO shaped every product decision. The company’s advisors reflect that same focus: Sue Taylor, former Chief Accounting Officer of Meta, and Kieran Snyder, VP of AI Transformation at Microsoft.

The platform is already gaining traction with enterprise customers ranging from scaled private companies like Dandy to public companies like Udemy.
