Slang AI has raised $36 million in Series B funding, bringing total capital raised to $68 million. The round was led by US Venture Partners, with participation from Thayer Investment Partners and former Stripe COO Claire Hughes Johnson. Existing backers Homebrew, Stage 2 Capital, Active Capital, Wing VC, Collide Capital, and Underscore VC also joined the round. The financing includes $28 million in equity and $8 million in debt.

The company plans to use the new capital to scale its voice AI platform across restaurants, hotels, and hospitality venues. Its system, branded as “Superhost,” is designed to manage inbound guest communications and reduce missed calls while improving booking capture and operational insight.

AI Steps Into the Front of House

Hospitality businesses depend heavily on inbound calls, yet many struggle to answer them consistently. According to Slang AI’s data, up to 50% of inbound calls to restaurants go unanswered each day, with about 20% arriving after hours. Even when calls are picked up, 10–20% fail during handoff or follow-up.

Industry data reflects growing urgency. Eight out of ten restaurant executives plan to increase AI spending this year, and 94% say AI is critical to staying competitive.

Slang AI’s platform answers calls around the clock, handles reservations and private dining requests, routes high-value inquiries, and integrates with tools such as OpenTable, SevenRooms, Tripleseat, and Yelp. It also recognizes returning guests and VIPs.

“The best restaurants in the world succeed because they make every guest feel known. Hospitality is about remembering people, anticipating their needs, and never missing an opportunity to serve. Slang AI makes that level of personalization possible at every restaurant, not just a handful of elite establishments. We’re building technology that unlocks a new level of personalization and human connection to every interaction, at any scale, and we deeply appreciate our restaurant partners’ and investors’ shared belief in our vision.”

Where the Capital Will Go

Slang AI intends to deepen its AI capabilities and build multi-modal guest experiences that extend beyond voice. The roadmap includes personalized recommendations, post-visit follow-ups, and automated review engagement. The company says these features are designed to drive measurable revenue and stronger guest relationships.

Part of the funding will also support hiring across engineering, product, and go-to-market teams. As demand grows, the company plans to expand its partnership ecosystem to offer tighter integrations and smoother workflows for operators.

“This funding round will empower us to make the Slang platform even more personal, more proactive, and more intelligent. It will remember even more about guests’ history and preferences, and bring them back through thoughtful, one-to-one outreach. And it will give operators real-time insight into both guest experience and team performance, so issues surface early and service keeps getting better. We’re thrilled to accelerate the expansion of our platform, and look forward to driving even greater value for our customers and investors.”

From Oxford Spinout to Global Operations

Founded as a spinout from the University of Oxford, Brainomix focuses on AI driven imaging for precision medicine. It operates in more than 20 countries and maintains offices in the UK, Ireland, and the United States.

Its flagship product, Brainomix 360 Stroke, is described as the first fully automated AI imaging platform for acute stroke assessment across the patient pathway. The platform is designed to support treatment and transfer decisions, regardless of a hospital’s local expertise.

The company’s e Lung technology applies AI driven CT biomarkers to identify, monitor, and predict progression in pulmonary fibrosis. The platform is intended to assist clinicians in diagnosing and managing fibrosing lung diseases earlier.

Built on Millions of Real Conversations

Founded in 2019 by Alex Sambvani and Gabe Duncan, Slang AI focuses exclusively on hospitality. Since launch, the company has built a dataset of more than 25 million guest calls from over 10 million unique callers across 2,000 restaurant locations.

This dataset forms the backbone of its system. The platform learns how guests phrase requests, where confusion occurs, and how timing and tone affect outcomes. The result is a voice AI designed to respond quickly and naturally while capturing bookings and inquiries that might otherwise be lost.

“Slang AI has fundamentally impacted our business. Before Slang, we were missing calls, reservations, and private event leads that our team couldn’t get to in time. Now those opportunities are captured automatically, and guests who might have booked elsewhere are booking with us. It has delivered meaningful, measurable results, while removing constant interruptions so our staff can stay focused on delivering the highest value human interactions.”

Slang AI reports delivering up to 20x ROI for some operators, doubling phone reservations, and achieving more than 95% guest satisfaction.

Investor Backing and Track Record

US Venture Partners led the Series B round, reinforcing its focus on early-stage enterprise software and technology investments. The firm has backed companies across cybersecurity, enterprise software, healthcare, and consumer sectors.

“Slang AI has built something incredibly rare: a proprietary dataset from 25 million real guest interactions that gives them an insurmountable advantage in understanding how people actually communicate with restaurants. Customer satisfaction at 95%+ is almost unheard of in enterprise software – these operators genuinely love the product. When you combine that kind of data moat with deeply delighted customers, you’re looking at a category-defining company.”

Rick Lewis General Partner of US Venture Partners

Slang AI has now raised $68 million to date. The company continues to expand its presence across global restaurant groups while deepening integrations with platforms such as OpenTable, SevenRooms, Tripleseat, and Yelp.
