Longeye, a developer of AI-powered investigative tools for law enforcement, has raised $5 million in seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz’s American Dynamism Fund. The announcement comes alongside news that the platform is already operational with the Redmond Police Department in Washington, where detectives have used it to uncover previously overlooked evidence in active investigations.

The round included participation from Seven Stars Capital and a group of strategic investors. Notable angels include Adam Bry and Abe Bachrach (co-founders of Skydio), Seth Forsgren and Hayk Martiros (founders of Producer AI), Nate Robert (founder and CEO of Baton), Kevin Mullins (CEO of SaferMobility), and Geoff Caldwell, a retired Captain from San Bruno Police Department. Several other law enforcement professionals and industry leaders also joined the round.

Tackling a National Problem: Crime Clearance Rates Hit Historic Lows

Modern law enforcement faces a paradox. Digital evidence is everywhere, but the capacity to analyze it hasn’t kept pace. In 2024, only 44% of violent crimes and 16% of property crimes were solved nationwide. Meanwhile, 70% of investigators say they simply don’t have time to review all the digital evidence tied to their cases.

The new capital will support several priorities. Longeye plans to expand its engineering team and accelerate product development. The company will also deploy its platform to additional law enforcement agencies across the country while building tailored solutions for prosecutors and public defenders.

In a notable move, Longeye intends to provide its AI services free of charge to public defenders’ offices. This reflects the company’s broader commitment to supporting balanced justice outcomes across the system.

Early Proof Points in Washington State

Within the first day of deployment at Redmond Police Department, detectives uploaded more than 2,000 files. The platform analyzes audio, video, images, documents, and social media data while maintaining strict FBI compliance requirements. Every finding is linked back to verifiable source material.

In one case, the system identified a confession-like conversation buried deep in jail call recordings that investigators had not previously detected. Officers followed up and located a spent shell casing at the location mentioned in the call. That piece of evidence effectively closed the case.

Security and privacy are baked into the design. The system is self-hosted on AWS GovCloud, the same infrastructure used by the FBI. No third-party APIs are involved. Models never train on case data, and each investigation remains fully isolated. The platform also supports real-time translation and transcription in Spanish, Mandarin, and other languages.
