Revolutionizing Work on Wheels: €10M Boost for AI-Powered Mobile Teams
Münster-based clockin has secured a significant €10 million funding boost to drive its mission of modernizing the European mobile workforce. The investment round was co-led by Amsterdam’s Newion and Düsseldorf’s NRW.Venture, with continued support from existing investors Scalehouse Capital and D11Z.Ventures.
The fresh capital will fuel software development and accelerate clockin’s scaled expansion across European small and medium-sized businesses. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the German startup as it targets the largely underserved mobile workforce market.
Addressing Europe’s Overlooked Mobile Workforce
Around 80% of Europe’s workforce operates outside traditional office environments, with mobile teams in skilled trades, healthcare, and manufacturing industries still relying heavily on manual processes and paperwork. Clockin aims to change this reality by providing practical digital solutions that work seamlessly on smartphones.
“We need to bring all employees into the AI age – especially in small businesses. This opens up enormous potential for millions of companies,” says clockin CEO & Co-Founder Frederik Neuhaus.
Strategic Investment in AI-Powered Efficiency
The new funding will primarily support the development of AI functionalities specifically designed for mobile teams. While artificial intelligence has become standard in office environments, it remains largely absent from construction sites, patient care facilities, and production floors. Clockin’s platform addresses this gap by integrating AI into everyday workflows for mobile employees.
The company plans to use these funds to strengthen mobile teams across Europe while maintaining its focus on user-friendly solutions. The investment will also support hiring efforts and market expansion beyond the company’s current stronghold in German-speaking countries.
From Münster Startup to European Platform
Founded in Münster in 2018, clockin emerged from conversations with medium-sized companies struggling with time-consuming administrative tasks. The founders recognized that mobile teams needed simple, smartphone-based solutions that could integrate seamlessly with existing business processes.
Since launch, the company has attracted customers from over 50 industries, ranging from traditional skilled trades to modern healthcare services. Today, more than 6,000 companies across Europe use clockin’s platform for time tracking, absence management, resource planning, and project documentation.
The platform has earned recognition through programs like German Accelerator and Scale-up.NRW, while receiving awards including the NRW Innovation Prize. These achievements highlight the company’s growth potential and product quality in the competitive business software market.
The investment reflects growing confidence in solutions designed specifically for mobile workforces. As clockin continues to innovate and expand its reach, it’s clear that the company is poised to revolutionize the way mobile teams work across Europe.
