How AI is Revolutionizing the Way We Grow Food
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been making waves in various industries, but its impact on agriculture is particularly noteworthy. In a bid to boost productivity and improve operations, farmers are now leveraging AI to identify the best crop varieties for their specific regions.
The traditional method of selecting crop varieties involves manual processes such as testing, comparing, and gathering feedback from growers. However, this approach can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. To streamline this process, some companies are turning to AI technology that can analyze data and provide insights on the best crop varieties for specific regions.
One such company is Heritable Agriculture, which has developed AI tools to analyze agricultural data. In collaboration with Syngenta Vegetable Seeds, they have created software systems that can recommend the best crop varieties for growers worldwide. Using a combination of existing data and crop trialling, their AI-powered system can predict the performance of different crop varieties down to an accuracy of around 10 meters x 10 meters.
