Cisco is taking collaboration to the next level with the introduction of AI agents in its Webex suite. These intelligent assistants aim to simplify and automate various tasks involved in work meetings, making them more efficient and productive.

At its recent WebexOne event, Cisco showcased several AI agents that are designed to revolutionize the way teams collaborate. The company’s president and chief product officer, Jeetu Patel, highlighted the significance of this new era of AI, moving beyond chatbots to agents that can conduct tasks autonomously on behalf of users.

The first AI agent to be launched is a meeting scheduler, which can determine who should be invited to a meeting, check their availability, and schedule the meeting accordingly. This feature will become available in the final quarter of 2025.

AI-Powered Productivity Tools

Cisco is also introducing several other AI agents that will become generally available in the first quarter of 2026. These include a task agent, which creates action items from meeting summaries and performs them on behalf of users. A note taker agent can transcribe, summarize, and caption action items from face-to-face conversations, while a polling agent suggests polls and generates questions during Webex video meetings.

The voice AI receptionist agent for Webex Calling can automate routine queries and take actions on requests from callers. The Webex AI task agent can create and carry out action items from meeting summaries, further streamlining collaboration.

Integrations with Third-Party Tools

Cisco is also announcing integrations between its AI assistant and third-party tools. A bi-directional integration with Microsoft 365 Copilot AI assistant uses a Microsoft Graph Connector to connect with Webex, allowing users to access details from Webex meetings or recordings via M365 Copilot in apps like PowerPoint.

Other integrations include Amazon Q index, Jira, and Salesforce, with general availability set for Q4 2025 and Q1 2026 respectively. New AI tools will also be released as part of RoomOS 26 for Cisco Devices, launching in Q4 2025.

The Future of Collaboration

Cisco’s AI-powered Webex revolution is poised to transform the way teams collaborate and communicate. With these intelligent agents, users can expect a more efficient and productive experience, with tasks automated and streamlined. As collaboration continues to evolve, it’s exciting to see what the future holds for Cisco’s Webex suite.
