Cisco Introduces Next-Gen AI Features for Webex and RoomOS 26

Cisco has announced new AI tools and integrations designed to make teamwork easier and more automated. These updates were shared during the company’s WebexOne event, showing a big push toward smarter collaboration.

Meet the New AI Agents in Webex

Cisco is rolling out a suite of AI agents that aim to handle tasks during meetings, saving users time and effort. The first of these is a meeting scheduler agent, which can pick the right people to invite, check their schedules, and set up meetings automatically. This feature is expected to be available by the end of 2025.

In early 2026, more advanced agents will become generally available. A task agent will read meeting summaries and automatically create action items like tickets or follow-up meetings. A note taker agent will transcribe and summarize conversations, even during in-person meetings through smartphones or laptops. This tool will also be integrated into the upcoming RoomOS 26 system for Cisco’s meeting room hardware.

Another helpful agent is a polling feature that can suggest and create polls during meetings. It will analyze the conversation and generate questions, which will be built directly into Cisco’s Slido app. Additionally, a voice AI receptionist will manage routine queries in Webex Calling, handling common requests and actions automatically.

Smart Integrations with Popular Tools

Cisco is also working on connecting its AI assistant with other popular platforms. One major integration is with Microsoft 365 Copilot, which will allow users to access Webex meeting details directly from Microsoft apps like PowerPoint, Outlook, or OneDrive. This bi-directional link means users can invoke Webex AI features from within Microsoft tools, making workflows smoother.

Other collaborations include integrations with Amazon Q, Jira, and Salesforce. These will enable users to access their project management and customer data more seamlessly. The plan is to make Amazon Q and Microsoft 365 Copilot integrations available by late 2025, with Jira and Salesforce support coming in early 2026.

New AI Features for Cisco Devices

Alongside software updates, Cisco is launching new AI features for its RoomOS 26 platform, expected in late 2025. One is a director agent that automatically selects the best camera angles during a video call, helping meetings look more professional without manual adjustments.

Another tool, developed with Nvidia, is the Workspace Advisor. It creates a virtual 3D model of a meeting room, allowing IT teams to optimize the placement of microphones and cameras for better audio and video. It even includes noise control features, helping block out distracting sounds during calls.

Cisco’s latest AI innovations aim to make meetings more efficient and less stressful. These tools are designed to automate routine tasks, improve collaboration, and streamline workflows across different platforms. As AI continues to evolve, Cisco’s investments show a clear move toward smarter, more autonomous work environments.
