The wait is over for fans of the Fallout series. Prime Video has dropped the official trailer for the highly anticipated second season of Fallout, based on the popular video game franchise. The new footage hints at a wild ride filled with humor, explosions, and some pretty bizarre mutants—including Elvis impersonators in the wasteland of New Vegas.

The first season introduced us to Lucy MacLean, a young woman whose vault was attacked by surface dwellers. They killed many of her friends and kidnapped her dad, Hank, played by Kyle MacLachlan. Lucy, who grew up sheltered underground, had to learn how tough life on the surface really is. Along her journey, she teamed up with Maximus, a guy pretending to be a knight from the Brotherhood of Steel. She also crossed paths with the Ghoul, a former Hollywood star turned radiation-mutated survivor, played by Walton Goggins. By the end of season one, Lucy decided to join the Ghoul and her loyal dog, CX404—now called Dogmeat—to track down the Vault-Tec leaders responsible for the nuclear disaster, including her father.

Season 2 picks up right after that big finale. The story will take viewers through the Mojave Desert and into the ruined city of New Vegas. Many of the original cast members are returning, including Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, and Aaron Moten. New faces include Moises Arias as Lucy’s younger brother, Norm, and Frances Turner as Cooper Howard’s wife, Barb. Big names like Justin Theroux will join the cast as Mr. Robert House, the head of RobCo Industries. Also appearing briefly are Macaulay Culkin—possibly as Caesar—and Kumail Nanjiani.

The trailer gives a glimpse into Lucy’s ongoing quest. She’s searching for her father, Hank, who seems to be a bit of a mad scientist experimenting on mice in his lab. Meanwhile, Maximus reflects on the good people he’s met in the wasteland—mainly Lucy—while others think survival sometimes means losing your decency. Lucy’s motivation has shifted from just finding her dad to bringing him to justice and giving hope to the wasteland’s inhabitants.

The Ghoul, who’s been wandering for 200 years, is also on a personal mission—to find his family. As tensions rise, civil war is brewing in the wasteland, and it’s clear that everyone will soon be caught in the chaos. The second season of Fallout will premiere on December 17, 2025, on Prime Video.

This new season promises to bring more of the dark humor, intense action, and strange mutants fans love. With familiar characters and new surprises, it looks like the wasteland is about to get even crazier. Fans can’t wait to see how Lucy’s story unfolds amid the chaos of New Vegas and the looming civil war.
