Alberta Opens A Data Centre Information Hub

OpenAI’s lawyers say Tan instructed recruits not to bring or disclose confidential information. They said, “Tan repeatedly instructed recruits and his team not to bring or disclose former employers’ confidential information.”

OpenAI claims it follows standard industry practices. It also accuses Apple of encouraging employees to use personal iCloud accounts for work.

OpenAI says Apple failed to manage access properly when employees departed. Those claims add a second dispute over how sensitive information should be handled.

ChatGPT has been integrated into Apple products since 2024. The lawsuit now places that relationship beside a fight over future devices.

Leaked details describe OpenAI’s first device as a screenless smart speaker. LoveFrom, a studio founded by Jony Ive, is collaborating on the design.

Bloomberg reported that the device would be circular like a donut. It would measure about the size of a hockey puck. The reported price sits between $300 and $400.

The reported launch plan targets 2027. OpenAI has never confirmed these leaks.

OpenAI called for the case to be permanently dismissed on Wednesday. Federal judge Edward Davila will consider both requests at a hearing on October 1.
