Blaize Names New CRO to Drive Global AI Market Growth
Blaize Holdings, a leader in AI infrastructure, has announced the appointment of Stephen Patak as its new Chief Revenue Officer. This move aims to boost the company’s global sales efforts as AI technology shifts from experimental projects to real-world applications. Blaize is at a key point in its growth, with its AI platform moving into customer deployments and securing design wins across various sectors.
Expanding Leadership to Accelerate Growth
Patak brings over 25 years of experience in building and leading sales teams for technology companies focused on infrastructure and enterprise solutions. His background includes launching complex platforms and driving consistent revenue growth in both developed and emerging markets. His recent role as CRO at Nile involved scaling secure, AI-powered networking services.
Prior to that, he held senior roles at companies like Ubicquia and Extreme Networks, and spent 15 years at Cisco, managing sales in the U.S. and Asia Pacific. His experience includes leading Cisco’s Service Provider business in Asia, Japan, and China. Blaize’s CEO, Dinakar Munagala, highlighted how Patak’s leadership will be vital as the company expands its global reach and supports more AI deployments in operational settings.
Moving AI from Concept to Real-World Deployment
Munagala explained that as AI moves from data centers into actual environments, customers face new challenges such as ensuring uptime, integrating with existing systems, and maintaining performance over time. These operational realities influence what success looks like for teams managing AI solutions. Patak’s proven ability to scale organizations in complex markets will help Blaize meet these challenges effectively.
Patak expressed enthusiasm about joining Blaize, emphasizing the company’s transition from AI concepts to tangible deployments. He noted that Blaize is working with cloud providers, next-generation AI cloud operators, and infrastructure partners across both public and private sectors. This positions Blaize to embed AI into core platforms, rather than keeping it as a pilot project.
He added that this stage of growth is compelling, and he looks forward to collaborating with the Blaize team as the company continues to expand its presence and impact in the AI industry.
