Cast AI Launches GPU Marketplace Valued Over $1 Billion

Cast AI has announced a major new feature called OMNI Compute, a platform that makes it easier for businesses to access and manage GPUs across different cloud providers and regions. This new control plane automatically finds available resources and extends existing Kubernetes clusters without any need for code changes. Alongside this, Cast AI secured a strategic investment from Pacific Alliance Ventures, the venture arm of the Korean conglomerate Shinsegae Group. With this funding, the company’s valuation has surpassed $1 billion, marking a significant milestone.

Introducing OMNI Compute

OMNI Compute acts as a universal compute marketplace, allowing companies to connect external capacity like GPUs directly to their workloads. This means that organizations can run AI inference and other demanding tasks on the most suitable resources, whether they’re local or across different cloud providers, without reconfiguring their systems or making code changes. It provides a seamless way to access and utilize diverse compute environments, helping companies avoid vendor lock-in.

By integrating external capacity into their existing Kubernetes setups, teams gain more flexibility and control. They can scale their services across multiple regions and providers, ensuring workloads are always running where they are most efficient and cost-effective. The platform also applies advanced optimization techniques, such as GPU sharing, monitoring, and rightsizing, to keep workloads efficient and predictable even at large scale.

Strategic Investment and Market Impact

The new funding round includes support from Pacific Alliance Ventures, the venture capital arm of Shinsegae Group, a giant Korean conglomerate with interests in retail, digital platforms, and more. Cast AI’s CEO, Yuri Frayman, said that the investment and the company’s valuation reflect confidence from the market in their vision of automated, adaptable infrastructure. He emphasized that companies need infrastructure that can automatically adjust to changing workloads and constraints, and Cast AI’s automation agents are built for that purpose.

The company highlighted that their platform’s expansion with OMNI Compute allows organizations to run any workload—starting with AI inference—without being tied to a single cloud or region. This flexibility helps businesses meet regulatory and compliance demands while optimizing for performance and cost. As demand for AI and high-performance computing grows, Cast AI aims to provide a scalable, automated solution that simplifies managing complex compute resources.

Several cloud providers, including Oracle, are now offering GPU capacity through OMNI Compute. Oracle’s Senior Vice President, Karan Batta, explained that this partnership opens new markets for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure by allowing organizations to instantly access OCI’s high-performance AI infrastructure across all regions. Batta added that OMNI Compute removes traditional barriers that kept enterprises locked into one cloud, empowering them to tap into the best available resources wherever they are.

Overall, Cast AI’s new platform and strategic funding position it as a key player in the future of cloud-based AI infrastructure. By making GPU resources more fungible and accessible across clouds, the company aims to simplify how enterprises run demanding workloads. This move could accelerate AI adoption and help organizations scale more efficiently without being limited by their existing cloud setups.
