May is shaping up to be a great month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Microsoft is adding some highly anticipated titles, including the sequel to a popular underwater survival game and a major racing game set in Japan. These new releases give players plenty of reasons to fire up their consoles or PCs this month.

Major Game Releases for May

One of the biggest additions is Forza Horizon 6, which arrives on May 19. The racing series is known for its open-world gameplay and stunning visuals, and this latest installment takes players to Japan. With over 550 real-world cars to choose from, players can explore Tokyo and beyond in a breathtaking virtual recreation. Critics who previewed the game last month praised its graphics and gameplay, and many are already excited to jump into the action. While the game will also come to PlayStation 5 eventually, no release date has been announced for that version yet.

Alongside Forza Horizon 6, Xbox is adding other titles to its lineup. On May 7, the narrative adventure Mixtape from Annapurna Interactive hits Game Pass. The game is styled to evoke the ’90s and offers a nostalgic experience for fans of that era. Later in the month, on May 14, the highly anticipated sequel Subnautica 2 enters Early Access. The original game was a hit among survival and underwater game fans, so its sequel being available on Game Pass is a big win. Currently the most wishlisted game on Steam, Subnautica 2 promises more deep-sea exploration and survival challenges for players.

Upcoming Additions and Departures

Throughout May, several titles will be added to the service, including fun and varied options. On May 6, players can check out Ben 10 Power Trip and other titles like Descenters Next, Wheel World, Wildgate, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. These games cater to different tastes, from action to puzzle-solving, making the lineup diverse for all kinds of players.

Other notable releases include Outbound on May 11, Black Jacket and Call of the Elder Gods on May 12, and Doom: The Dark Ages plus Subnautica 2 on May 14. These additions continue to expand the library, giving subscribers plenty of new content to explore. However, with new games coming in, some titles will be leaving the service. On May 15, games like Galacticare, Go Mecha Ball, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, Paw Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship, and Planet of Lana will be removed. Fans of these titles should plan to play them before they exit the platform.

Overall, May offers a mix of exciting new releases and nostalgic favorites for Game Pass members. Whether you’re into racing, adventure, or survival games, there’s something to look forward to this month. With Microsoft’s continued efforts to add quality titles, subscribers can enjoy fresh gaming experiences while saving money.
