Meet the New Chief Business Officer
Michael Bierl joined Flatiron in 2019 and has played a vital role in expanding the company’s global presence, especially in Europe. As Chief Business Officer, he now oversees Flatiron’s worldwide commercial, scientific, and operational teams. His leadership focuses on building partnerships and delivering evidence-based solutions to customers around the world.
Bierl’s experience in scaling Flatiron’s Global Evidence business positions him well to drive growth and innovation. His work in expanding the company’s impact across regions demonstrates his commitment to improving cancer care through data-driven insights.
Leading Technology with AI Focus
Allison Candido has been with Flatiron since 2014, bringing deep technical expertise and operational leadership. As Chief Technology Officer, she will continue to oversee engineering efforts, especially in advancing artificial intelligence applications. Her team is working on harnessing AI to unlock complex data and meet the evolving needs of oncology providers and researchers.
Candido’s leadership will be key as Flatiron leverages new technologies to improve data analysis and support clinical decision-making. Her focus on innovation aims to enhance how Flatiron uses AI to generate insights that can accelerate cancer research and patient care.
Driving Product Innovation
Since joining Flatiron in 2018, Kate Estep has earned recognition for connecting strategy with customer needs. As Chief Product Officer, she will lead the development of Flatiron’s Point of Care and Global Evidence products. Her role is to unify how data and AI solutions are used across different parts of the company.
Estep’s work ensures that oncology providers and life sciences partners can better leverage data to make informed decisions. Her leadership aims to speed up progress in cancer care by creating smarter, more integrated product suites that meet real-world needs.
These new appointments complement existing leaders like Cal Brouilette, CFO, and Julia Morton, COO, all reporting to CEO Nathan Hubbard. Together, they are shaping the future of Flatiron as it builds a global platform to improve cancer outcomes and extend lives worldwide.
