Google Unveils Gemini 3.1 Pro for Advanced Problem Solving

Google has introduced a new AI model called Gemini 3.1 Pro, which aims to tackle the most complex problems with smarter reasoning. This update marks a significant step forward in core AI capabilities, focusing on deep understanding and advanced decision-making. It is designed to go beyond simple answers and handle tasks that require intricate analysis and planning.

Enhanced Capabilities for Difficult Tasks

Gemini 3.1 Pro is built to excel in scenarios where basic responses are not enough. It can provide visual explanations for complex topics, helping users understand difficult concepts more clearly. The model also synthesizes data from different sources into a single, cohesive view, making it useful for research, engineering, and scientific challenges. Its improved reasoning abilities enable it to process deep context, making it suitable for complex problem-solving.

Google describes Gemini 3.1 Pro as a major upgrade that pushes AI closer to human-like understanding. The model’s smarter reasoning helps it handle tasks that involve multiple steps or require deep insight. This development aims to make AI more practical and helpful for real-world applications that need advanced cognition.

Availability for Developers and Enterprises

Developers can access Gemini 3.1 Pro through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio, Gemini CLI, Google Antigravity, and Android Studio. It is also available for enterprise users via Vertex and Gemini Enterprise platforms. Consumers can try out the model through the Gemini app and NotebookLM. These options give a wide range of users access to the new capabilities.

Google has also integrated Gemini 3.1 Pro’s core intelligence into recent updates, including last week’s release of Gemini 3 Deep Think. This version is designed to solve complex challenges across fields like science, research, and engineering. The team highlights that the model’s reasoning skills are a key factor in these improvements.

On the ARC-AGI-2 benchmark, which tests a model’s ability to solve new logic patterns, Gemini 3.1 Pro scored 77.1%. This score more than doubles the reasoning performance of its predecessor, Gemini 3 Pro. The results show the model’s significant progress in understanding and solving complex problems.
