Today, Miro announced a new tool called the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It’s designed to help teams work faster and more accurately by linking their visual collaboration space with AI coding tools. Developed in partnership with companies like Anthropic, AWS, GitHub, Google, and Windsurf, the MCP server creates a two-way connection between Miro and AI development environments.

Bridging Visual Context and AI for Better Collaboration

Many organizations see AI as a way to speed up their work, but they often struggle to keep AI outputs grounded in real workflows. Without shared context, AI suggestions can feel disconnected, hard to trust, and expensive to verify. This is especially true outside of engineering teams, such as IT, security, or operations, where clear understanding is crucial.

Miro’s MCP server addresses this problem by linking the visual information teams create in Miro—like diagrams, decisions, and architectures—with AI agents across the organization. Jeff Chow, Miro’s Chief Product & Technology Officer, highlighted the importance of shared visual context. He explained that when teams—product, design, and engineering—align visually, their collective understanding can flow into AI systems and back into ongoing discussions. Making this shared context accessible through the MCP helps organizations unlock more value from their AI investments.

GitHub’s VP of Product, Simina Pasat, added that millions of developers already use GitHub Copilot to write code. She noted that MCP makes it easier for these developers to stay in their flow by providing access to architectural diagrams, user stories, and design decisions without leaving their workspace. This integration leads to smarter, faster, and more secure software development.

Replit’s Head of Business Development, Jeff Burke, also shared how the MCP server helps turn ideas into working apps more quickly. By passing context seamlessly from Miro to Replit, teams can reduce friction and speed up the process from concept to launch. Burke believes this integration will enable better feedback loops and faster shipping of products.

New Use Cases for Better Product Development

With this launch, Miro is focusing on two main ways teams can benefit. One is automated code visualization, where teams can generate system diagrams and detailed documentation directly from their codebases within AI coding tools. This helps reveal how different components relate and depend on each other, making complex architectures easier to understand.
