NODA AI Secures $25M to Advance Defense Autonomous Systems
NODA AI has raised $25 million in a Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. The round also includes investments from Booz Allen Ventures, Draper Associates, Bloomberg Beta, and Alumni Ventures. The company, based in Austin, develops AI software aimed at coordinating autonomous military systems across various operational domains. The new capital will help accelerate their progress in key defense programs for the Department of War and the UK Ministry of Defense.
Innovating in Defense Automation Through Orchestration Software
NODA AI specializes in building software that acts as the “brain” for autonomous military fleets. Instead of focusing on hardware like vehicles or drones, the company creates the orchestration layer that connects and manages diverse unmanned and manned platforms. This approach is part of a broader shift in defense technology, where the focus is on enabling different systems to work together seamlessly across air, land, sea, space, and subsurface environments.
CEO Philong Duong explains that their goal is to develop a new market category—what he calls “algorithmic warfare.” He emphasizes that winning future conflicts will depend on making smarter, faster decisions. NODA AI aims to create systems capable of real-time reasoning, adaptive tactics, and strategic coordination, turning independent autonomous units into a cohesive, effective force.
Strategic Growth and Future Plans
The fresh funding will support expanding NODA AI’s capabilities across more than 30 existing platform integrations. The company is already working closely with the Department of War and UK defense agencies, embedding its technology into several programs. They plan to deepen these partnerships and extend their reach into additional defense and intelligence markets.
Part of the growth plan involves enhancing their AI reasoning engine and expanding tactical libraries designed for mixed fleets operating across multiple domains. The company’s focus remains on creating the connective software that enables interoperability and collaboration, rather than hardware development. This positions NODA AI as a key player in the future of autonomous military systems.
