Quadric has announced a major addition to its leadership team. Ravi Chakaravarthy has stepped in as Vice President of Software Engineering. He will oversee the company’s growing software development efforts, focusing on its cutting-edge embedded AI software stack powering the Chimera AI processor IP.

Experienced Leader with Deep AI Expertise

Chakaravarthy brings a wealth of experience from the semiconductor industry. Before joining Quadric, he led software development for AMD’s AI software stack, supporting both data center and edge AI applications. His background includes hands-on work with AI and machine learning for training and inference tasks.

He has managed open-source projects involving over 60 complex software initiatives. His leadership history also includes roles at Broadcom and Hewlett-Packard, giving him broad industry experience across enterprise computing and semiconductor sectors.

Strategic Impact and Vision for Quadric

Quadric’s CEO, Veerbhan Kheterpal, expressed enthusiasm about Chakaravarthy’s appointment. He highlighted how Ravi’s experience with large AI compiler and software teams aligns perfectly with the company’s growth phase. Kheterpal emphasized that Ravi’s technical skill and leadership will benefit both Quadric and its customers.

Chakaravarthy is excited to contribute to Quadric’s innovative edge AI technology. He plans to accelerate the development of the Chimera graph compiler and expand the company’s software capabilities. He pointed out that Quadric already supports five to ten times more AI models than other licensable NPUs, making its platform highly versatile.

He also noted that the upcoming tools will simplify how customers port models onto Chimera-powered chips. With current design wins spanning from 1 TOPS to over 400 TOPS, the market opportunity looks promising. More customers are adopting Quadric’s solutions each month, driving further growth.

About Quadric’s Unique Technology

Quadric’s Chimera processor is the only fully C++ programmable, licensable AI inference chip on the market. It combines the energy efficiency of dedicated neural network accelerators with the flexibility of a programmable architecture. This design allows for a unified programming model where neural network graphs and C++ code merge into a single application.

Such flexibility makes Chimera ideal for diverse AI applications, offering a blend of performance and programmability. As the company continues to expand its software stack and toolchain, customers will find it easier to develop and deploy AI models on Quadric’s platform.

Ravi Chakaravarthy’s addition signals Quadric’s commitment to leading in edge AI processing. With his leadership, the company aims to strengthen its position and accelerate innovation in embedded AI solutions. As more industries adopt AI at the edge, Quadric is poised to offer powerful, flexible, and energy-efficient options for tomorrow’s AI challenges.
