At the Future of Memory and Storage conference, Kioxia revealed its latest advancements in flash storage technology. These new solutions are designed to meet the rising demands of artificial intelligence infrastructure. The focus is on high-capacity, high-performance storage that can support data centers and enterprise AI applications.

Innovative High-Capacity SSDs for AI

Kioxia is a leader in memory technology, and at the event, it showcased several new products tailored for AI workloads. The highlight is the KIOXIA LC9 Series, an industry-first SSD offering a massive 245.76 terabytes of storage. Built with BiCS FLASH generation 8 3D flash memory, this SSD combines speed, efficiency, and versatility. It is ideal for data centers that need scalable, reliable storage for intensive AI processing.

Along with the LC9, Kioxia introduced the CM9 Series and CD9P Series SSDs. These models are designed to deliver exceptional performance in AI-focused systems. They leverage advanced interface standards like Toggle DD6.0 and incorporate the SCA protocol with a new command address input method. These innovations help optimize data transfer speeds and reduce power consumption, making them suitable for demanding AI applications.

Advances in Flash Memory Technology

Kioxia also announced significant progress in its flash memory line, highlighting products built with BiCS FLASH generation 9 and 10 technology. These newer generations offer substantial improvements over previous versions, including faster data input and output speeds and enhanced energy efficiency. The integration of Toggle DD6.0 interfaces and the SCA protocol with innovative command methods further boosts performance.

One notable development is Kioxia’s PI-LTT technology, which improves data transfer speeds while lowering power use. This is especially important for AI infrastructure, where large amounts of data need to be processed quickly without draining energy resources.
