Supabase, a platform trusted by over 5 million developers worldwide, has announced new integrations with Amazon S3. These updates are designed to make building and scaling apps easier and faster. The goal is to remove technical hurdles as applications grow from small projects into large, enterprise-level solutions.

New Storage Features for Data and AI

At AWS re:Invent, Supabase introduced two new storage options based on Amazon S3: Analytics Buckets and Vector Buckets. Analytics Buckets are built on Apache Iceberg and Amazon S3 Tables. They are meant to handle heavy analytics workloads, making it easier to analyze large amounts of data.

Vector Buckets are designed for AI features like semantic search and personalization. They provide specialized storage to support AI functionalities. Along with these, Supabase launched a new tool called Supabase ETL, which simplifies data transfer from PostgreSQL databases to analytics platforms. With just one click, developers can move data, saving months of development time.

Designed for Growing and Efficient Apps

Powered by AWS, Supabase has already created over 10 million databases. Many startups and over 60% of Y Combinator batches build on the platform. It helps developers easily scale their applications from prototypes to production. This means handling millions of users without needing to rebuild or redesign from scratch.

Supabase manages the complex technical details behind the scenes, so developers can focus on building new features. PostgreSQL is at the core of the platform, giving developers a central control point for their data. The platform operates across 17 AWS regions around the world, including locations like Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, London, and Northern California. This ensures low-latency responses for users everywhere.

Additionally, Supabase runs exclusively on AWS Graviton processors, which provide better performance and efficiency. All these features work together to create a smooth and scalable environment for developers building the next generation of apps.
