A team of scientists from Hong Kong Baptist University has made a major breakthrough in nanotechnology. The tests showed impressive results. The nanorobots reduced levels of common pollutants like 4-nitrophenol and methylene blue by up to 90%. That’s a huge drop in harmful chemicals. They also demonstrated strong antibacterial properties, killing bacteria like E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus effectively.

To enhance their antibacterial action, the team loaded the nanorobots with zinc phthalocyanine. This helped boost their ability to inhibit bacterial growth. The results suggest these nanorobots could be a powerful tool in water purification and disease prevention.

Potential Real-World Uses

The scientists believe their nanorobots could be used in many areas. They might help manage sewage more efficiently or be used in medical applications to treat contaminated water in hospitals. As the technology develops, it could become a key player in reducing pollution and fighting waterborne diseases.
