Lumen Taps Cisco Vet Jeff Sharritts as New Revenue Leader
Lumen Technologies has announced a major leadership change, appointing Jeff Sharritts as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Starting February 4, 2026, he will help steer the company’s growth and deepen customer ties. Sharritts will report directly to CEO Kate Johnson and oversee Lumen’s commercial strategies, including its growth teams.
Jeff Sharritts Brings Deep Industry Expertise
Sharritts joins Lumen from Cisco, where he was EVP and Chief Customer and Partner Officer. In that role, he managed Cisco’s global sales, partnerships, and customer experience teams. Under his leadership, Cisco shifted its focus toward selling more software and subscription services, generating over $50 billion annually. He also led Cisco’s largest region in the Americas, responsible for $29 billion in yearly revenue.
With over 24 years at Cisco, Sharritts held various leadership roles across different divisions, including Commercial, Public Sector, and Service Provider. He built strong customer ecosystems and led high-performing teams. Before Cisco, he managed sales at Marconi Communications and Panduit, gaining extensive experience in the industry.
Sharritts expressed excitement about joining Lumen, noting the company is at the forefront of a major infrastructure shift driven by AI. He aims to help customers innovate faster by connecting quickly, securely, and easily. His focus will be on delivering growth and long-term value for stakeholders.
Focus on Business Transformation and Growth
Kate Johnson highlighted that the next phase of Lumen’s transformation requires a strong commercial focus and scalable execution. She emphasized that the company is building on its recent momentum, which includes expanding its physical network, launching new digital solutions, and strengthening its partner ecosystem.
Sharritts will take over from Ashley Haynes-Gaspar, who played a key role in building the company’s critical programs. Johnson thanked her for her contributions and expressed confidence that Sharritts’s leadership will accelerate Lumen’s progress as a trusted network provider for AI and digital transformation.
This leadership shift underscores Lumen’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and enhancing its market position. Sharritts’s experience in transforming go-to-market strategies and driving software sales will be central to these efforts.
