Startup Funding Frenzy Sparks New AI and Tech Giants

This week saw some huge funding rounds that are reshaping tech’s future. Atoms, a physical AI startup founded by Uber’s Travis Kalanick, led the charge with a $1.7 billion raise. This round highlights the push toward a new industrial revolution. Kalanick described it as “large industrial economic sectors getting completely digitized.”
Atoms’ latest round included big names like Andreessen Horowitz, Bain Capital, Fifth Wall, and even Uber itself. The startup is clearly aiming to disrupt how AI interacts with the physical world.
Meshy AI also made waves, closing $400 million in Series B funding. The company, which builds foundation models for 3D AI generation, now holds a $1.5 billion valuation. Augustus, a fintech startup, raised $180 million in Series B, led by Tiger Global, hitting a $1 billion valuation.
Another standout is Etched, a chip co-designer that secured $300 million in Series C funding. Sequoia Capital led the round, valuing the company at $10 billion pre-money. Cathedral, a defense tech startup, raised $160 million with backing from Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.
Insurance and Healthcare Startups See Big Moves
Corgi, an AI-powered insurance startup, is growing fast. It recently raised a round that values it at $4 billion. This jump follows a $106 million B1 round just months ago at a $2.6 billion valuation. Corgi offers various insurance types, including general liability, tech-related incidents, and business renters’ insurance. It uses a Risk Retention Group structure for some policies and state-regulated carriers for others.
CEO Nico Laqua shared that Corgi had a $40 million annualized revenue run rate at its Series A seven months ago. The startup is on track to hit $450 million by year-end. Corgi also operates two 24-hour coffee shops in San Francisco and Atlanta, with plans for five more locations, including New York and London.
In healthcare, Crystalys Therapeutics raised an oversubscribed $130 million Series B round. Candid Health, focused on healthcare software, secured $120 million in funding. Wildflower Health, a digital health company for women, acquired Every Mother, a pelvic floor health platform that raised $1.85 million.
Robotics, Security, and Fintech Gain Momentum
Humanoid, a London-based robotics company, raised $152 million in Series A funding. Its valuation is nearly $1.4 billion. Gritt, a machine construction robotics startup, closed $32.4 million in Series A and pre-seed rounds. TYBR Health, a surgical technology company based in Houston, raised $30 million in Series A.
Boston’s Neo, an agentic security company, raised $100 million in seed and Series A rounds. Cashea, a Venezuelan fintech, brought in $100 million in a mix of equity and debt funding. Eurodia Industrie, a French liquid extraction firm, raised €18 million to expand its operations.
In acquisitions, Knox Lane completed a $473 million purchase of Cross Country Healthcare, a workforce solutions company. These moves show how startups and established firms alike are consolidating strength in health tech and security.
In the background, Moonshot, a Chinese AI startup, is in talks to reach a valuation of at least $50 billion. This signals global competition heating up in AI innovation and investment.
Overall, this week’s funding rounds reveal a tech landscape that is evolving fast. AI, robotics, fintech, and healthcare startups are attracting massive capital. The momentum is clear — the next giants of tech are taking shape now.
