AI Security Surges Toward the Network Edge

AI is moving into the network, and security companies are racing to control what happens next. On September 2, 2026, Huskeys announced a $27 million Series A while Lasso Security unveiled a CPU-based guardrail built to inspect AI activity at enterprise scale.

These announcements point to two connected pressure points: organizations need a security management layer for AI-driven networks, and they need protection that can make decisions without adding costly delays. Huskeys is building that network layer with Network Edge Security Management, while Lasso is targeting the behavior of AI agents with its new LEAP engine.

Huskeys Targets the Modern Network Edge

Huskeys raised $27 million in Series A funding led by Blackstone Innovations Investments, bringing its total funding to $35 million and valuing the company at more than $100 million. The round also included Merlin Ventures, Skinos Ventures, Zscaler Ventures, Okta Ventures, Bright Pixel Capital, and SV Angel.

Founded in 2025 by Itai Gafni and Roy Weisfeld, Huskeys is developing Network Edge Security Management, or NESM. The platform analyzes more than a trillion web requests daily, giving the company a base for managing traffic across complex network environments.

NESM includes network edge posture management, application-specific rule tuning, and policy lifecycle automation. It supports multi-cloud and multi-vendor environments, and it helps organizations identify, understand, and manage agentic traffic as AI systems begin to act across internet-facing applications.

That shift is changing the security problem itself. Blackstone Chief Information Security Officer Adam Fletcher endorsed Huskeys’ platform and described the forces driving the new category.

“The way organizations secure internet-facing applications is fundamentally changing. AI-driven traffic and increasingly fragmented edge environments require a new approach to security management,” Fletcher stated.

Fletcher also said, “Huskeys has built a platform designed to operate at enterprise scale while advancing a new category for the modern network edge. We believe the company is well positioned to redefine how organizations manage edge security, and we’re excited to support Huskeys as they continue to develop their product in this important category.”

Lasso Builds a Fast AI Guardrail Without GPUs

Lasso Security announced LEAP, a transformer-free AI guardrail designed for CPU-based deployment. LEAP delivers detection accuracy on ordinary CPUs with decision times under five milliseconds, operates without a GPU, and runs without context-window restrictions.

LEAP is already in production at global enterprises and the U.S. federal government. It is the first of two engines in the Lasso platform, with RAPID serving as the second. RAPID is a self-hosted large language model judge for decisions that require complex reasoning.

Lasso pairs the two engines by routing most traffic to LEAP for inline decisions, then using RAPID when a request needs deeper analysis. That design targets the cost and speed limits that can make a guardian AI oversee every other agent.

Ophir Dror, Co-Founder and CPO of Lasso Security, explained the challenge: “The concept of a guardian agent or agents overseeing other agents is great, unless you are the one paying the bill. In real world deployments with millions of prompts and actions, this idea is just not feasible.”

LEAP can reduce costs by 100-200x compared to cloud LLM API calls. Its under-five-millisecond decision time also gives Lasso a path to inline security decisions, where waiting for a remote model could slow down AI applications.

“Two years ago, the question was whether enterprises would put AI in front of their customers. That question is settled. What they need now is security that keeps up with agents that act autonomously and at scale,” said Elad Schulman, Co-Founder and CEO of Lasso Security. “This is what LEAP was built for — inspecting not only what agents say, but also what they do, at enterprise scale and cost-effectively.”

Enterprise AI Security Moves Into Production

Lasso also announced a $30 million funding round led by ClearSky. Its revenue grew by over 500% in the past 12 months, and its customers include the US Department of Homeland Security, Kaufman Rossin, eToro, and Fiverr.

The company’s customer examples show how its platform is being used beyond model testing. Vladislav Rudnitsky, CISO of Kaufman Rossin, said Lasso provides visibility into how artificial intelligence is used across the firm, helping security teams make decisions with empirical data and apply guardrails for data loss prevention and inline feedback.

Kim Bozzella, Global Leader of CIO & CISO C-Suite Solutions at Protiviti, described Lasso’s platform as a way to deliver AI security to clients at scale, highlighting its collaborative approach and technical capabilities.

Lasso’s offensive team also conducts automated red teaming against customers’ AI applications. That adds testing to the platform’s guardrail and monitoring work, creating a cycle that examines how AI applications behave and where their controls need reinforcement.

Huskeys and Lasso are attacking different layers of the same fast-moving security challenge. Huskeys is building control across the network edge, where traffic crosses multi-cloud and multi-vendor environments. Lasso is placing a fast decision engine inside AI workflows, where agents generate prompts and actions that need inspection.

The next stage will center on how these systems handle AI agents operating autonomously and at scale. With Huskeys raising $27 million for NESM and Lasso combining LEAP, RAPID, automated red teaming, and new funding, the security layer around enterprise AI is taking shape now.
