Venttup’s $3 Million Bet on AI and Precision Manufacturing

Venttup has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A round as it builds a larger precision manufacturing operation for deep-tech companies and original equipment manufacturers. Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures led the round, which will fund manufacturing infrastructure, engineering talent and AI-driven sourcing tools.
The company is focused on a problem that sits between a promising hardware design and a finished product: moving from engineering development and component validation to production readiness and mass manufacturing. Venttup plans to bring those steps together through its manufacturing-as-a-service model and a network of Indian small and medium-sized enterprises.
From Prototype to Production
Venttup supports customers across engineering design, specification standardisation, prototyping, testing, validation and contract manufacturing. Its goal is to create production-ready components for deep-tech companies through what it describes as a robust MSME ecosystem.
The company is setting up a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru for precision machining, turning and sheet metal production. The facility will support applications across the energy transition, defence, aerospace and space, while helping customers move from component development and validation to production readiness and mass manufacturing.
This expansion will strengthen both Venttup’s precision manufacturing and rapid prototyping infrastructure. It will also expand the company’s engineering team, giving Venttup more capacity to handle complex requirements and prepare components for larger production runs.
Sandeep Nair, Co-founder and CEO of Venttup, said, “India’s next phase of manufacturing growth requires strong engineering capabilities that can translate complex requirements into validated, production-ready components. At Venttup, we are building an engineering-first manufacturing company that brings together design standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing and scalable production through India’s capable MSME ecosystem.”
AI for Sourcing and Supplier Intelligence
AI is another major part of the company’s expansion plan. Venttup will use AI to improve B2B sourcing, supplier intelligence and operational efficiency, adding a technology layer to the work of finding and managing manufacturing partners.
That focus reflects the challenge Venttup is trying to solve for hardware startups. Abhinav Singh Negi, Lead Climate and Deeptech at Rainmatter by Zerodha, said, “Hardware startups often struggle to find reliable partners who can manage the transition from validation to production. At the same time, the push for indigenisation across critical sectors is unlocking a massive wave of industrial demand that simply didn’t exist before.”
For Venttup, AI-driven sourcing will sit alongside design standardisation, prototyping, testing and production. The company plans to build a more integrated pathway rather than treating each stage as a separate task, with supplier intelligence supporting the process from early engineering work through manufacturing.
Growth Across Several Industrial Markets
Venttup has grown its revenue fivefold since its seed funding round in 2024, reaching ₹10 crore in FY2025–26. It has also built a business opportunity pipeline worth approximately ₹30 crore, giving the company a larger base for its next stage of expansion.
Over the past 12 months, Venttup has added more than 15 blue-chip companies to its customer base. Those opportunities span new energy, mobility and smart infrastructure, while the company is expanding across energy transition and data centres, aerospace and defence, smart infrastructure and future mobility, as well as electronics and automation.
Founded by Sandeep Nair, M. Wasim Ankli and Joseph Panakkal, Venttup aims to strengthen indigenous manufacturing capabilities and build supply chains for domestic and global markets. Its latest funding will support the team, facility and systems needed to connect engineering work with production at a wider scale.
The company’s expansion comes as it positions the MSME ecosystem as a key part of manufacturing for deep-tech businesses. By combining precision manufacturing, rapid prototyping and AI-assisted sourcing, Venttup is building its model around the full path from an initial specification to a validated component and scalable production.
