AI in Business & Enterprise

Claude Moves Into the Core of Enterprise HR and Finance

Claude is moving closer to the systems that run companies. Workday and Anthropic have announced a partnership connecting Claude’s reasoning with Sana AI agents and Workday’s HR and finance data, while BambooHR has opened its own Claude connector for customers.

The result is a new path from questions to action, with business context, permissions, and controls traveling with the work. Could an AI assistant become the front door to employee records, budgets, reports, invoices, and hiring plans? These announcements point toward that future.

Workday Brings Claude Into Sana

Workday and Anthropic announced the partnership at Workday Rising 2026 in Las Vegas. The connection brings Claude’s reasoning together with Sana AI agents and Workday’s data and business context across HR and finance.

The experience runs in Sana, Workday’s agentic experience and orchestration layer, or in Claude, depending on the task. People can start work in either place, carrying their context and controls with them in each environment instead of restarting the process from scratch.

Claude and Sana exchange information and tasks through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, an open standard. Sana turns processes that once took weeks into work that happens continuously behind the scenes, holding each process’s context from start to finish and building the workspace each task needs without moving data out of Workday.

Inside Claude, employees can access Sana AI agents, analyze Workday HR and finance data, and take action. A hiring manager could compare open roles with existing headcount and budget, then build an internal mobility plan. A finance leader could check invoice exceptions against purchase orders, approve them in Claude, or route them to Sana.

Every action follows the customer’s existing permissions and audit controls in Workday. That detail puts governance inside the workflow rather than treating it as a separate step after the AI finishes its work.

Customers Can Build Their Own Agents

Workday said joint customers will be able to build their own agents inside Claude using Workday Agent-Ready Tools. That gives companies a way to shape agents around their own processes while keeping Workday’s business rules, data access, and controls in the loop.

“Together, Workday Sana and Claude unlock lawful AI across the enterprise to get real work done,” said Gerrit Kazmaier, Workday’s president of product and technology. Kazmaier said customers want domain AI agents for their people and money that understand the business rules they run on.

The partnership also reflects an existing relationship between the two companies. Anthropic is a Workday customer, running its finance and people operations on Workday Financials and Workday Human Capital Management.

Workday also builds with Claude. The company has rolled out Claude Enterprise and plans to start using Cowork, while its product and development teams use Claude Code to build Workday’s products. Workday Developer Agent connects to Claude to help developers build on Workday.

BambooHR Opens Its Own Claude Connection

BambooHR announced its Claude connector on October 8, 2026, making it the first connector built on the BambooHR MCP. That new connection layer links a customer’s BambooHR account with the AI tools their teams use.

The connector lets customers ask questions about HR data, pull reports, and take action from inside Claude. Once connected, the BambooHR account remains available in every Claude conversation, and every answer respects the permissions that person already has in BambooHR.

The connector carries the same data and permissions as Bamboo AI™ inside the product. BambooHR built the first release for HR administrators and leaders, giving them a broad set of tasks they can complete through natural-language requests.

  • An HR administrator can list saved reports, run a report, and receive a plain-language summary of the results.
  • Administrators can ask how many employees work in each department or group employees by location, manager, or custom field.
  • They can review open job postings, see how many candidates sit in each pipeline, and pull recent applicants.
  • An HR leader can request an email summarizing everyone who has not received a raise in two years.
  • Managers and employees can ask about time off, who is out, employee lookups, and goals, then receive answers inside Claude.

Early beta customers have used the BambooHR MCP in Claude for work that once required weeks of manual review or outside help. Sherie Darden, Global VP of Human Resources at Advanced Input Systems, said, “The BambooHR connector in my Claude account let me build our 2027 multi-state handbook in a week instead of a month.”

Brian Crofts, Chief Product Officer at BambooHR, said, “HR is some of the most consequential work a company does, and more of it now starts inside an AI assistant.”

HR Data Becomes Actionable Inside Claude

BambooHR’s platform reaches more than 30,000 customers, covers over 3 million employee records, and extends across over 190 countries. The Claude connector is available now in open beta and comes at no additional charge for BambooHR customers with an active Claude account.

Workday’s Sana partnership and BambooHR’s MCP connector take different paths toward the same shift: AI assistants are moving from answering general questions to handling governed business work. Employees can ask for information, connect it to a decision, and begin the next action without leaving the conversation.

That shift will make permissions and audit controls central to every enterprise AI rollout. As Workday, Anthropic, and BambooHR connect their systems, the most important question will not be whether Claude can understand HR and finance data. It will be how much real work companies let it coordinate next.
