GPT-6 Turns ChatGPT Responses Into Interactive Tools

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 with a new way to use ChatGPT: responses that do more than display text. The model can create interactive interfaces inside the chatbot, giving users graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, and other ways to work with information.

The capability, called Intelligent UI, is already rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users around the world. The rollout was dated Oct. 8, 2026 4:45 am EST, and it covers the subscription tiers that receive GPT-6 Sol.

ChatGPT responses become interactive

GPT-6 can shape an answer around the task instead of forcing every request into the same conversation format. A response might include an interactive table with ingredients, a checklist, and follow-up forms, all within ChatGPT. Users can work with those elements as part of the answer rather than reading a block of text and building the tools themselves.

OpenAI described the change this way: “Instead of fitting every question into the same conversational format, ChatGPT can combine UI, data, and actions to create entirely new ways for people to explore, understand, and interact with information.”

That approach could help with topics that are hard to follow in plain text. Charts can organize data, forms can guide a user through follow-up questions, and checklists can turn instructions into a sequence of actions. Interactive responses could help users understand complex topics more easily by putting visual aids next to the information they explain.

The system does not need to add visuals to every answer. GPT-6 can decide that pure text makes more sense, which keeps a simple response from becoming a busy interface. The model can choose between a text answer and a response that includes interactive elements.

New tools inside the chatbot

Intelligent UI also gives GPT-6 the ability to create specialized tools within ChatGPT. Those tools can include a calculator or a retro game like Snake. The examples show how a response can become something a user operates, not just something a user reads.

OpenAI trained GPT-6 to handle everyday conversations better and compose more visual responses inside the chatbot. The goal is not limited to adding pictures or charts. GPT-6 can combine information with controls and actions, creating a response that matches the way a person needs to use it.

GPT-6 can also answer while it is still thinking, which can shorten wait times for complex tasks. It can compose responses across multiple messages too, adding useful information until it produces a cohesive final output. Those capabilities change the experience of waiting for a long answer because the model can begin responding before the full result is complete.

Mariella Moon described Intelligent UI this way: “It will come with a capability called Intelligent UI that allows it to return responses quickly with fully interactive user interfaces.”

Two GPT-6 versions across ChatGPT tiers

GPT-6 Sol powers the subscription tiers, while GPT-6 Luna serves free or low-cost accounts. GPT-6 Luna is not as capable as GPT-6 Sol, creating a difference between the versions available across ChatGPT accounts.

The Intelligent UI rollout covers ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users. The capability brings the same broad idea to those tiers: ChatGPT can return information through a combination of text, data, visual elements, and actions.

That makes the rollout more than a change to how answers look. A calculator, a checklist, a chart, or a form can turn a single ChatGPT response into a small tool. Users can explore information inside the conversation, while GPT-6 decides when an interactive format helps and when plain text is the better choice.

GPT-6 therefore changes the role of ChatGPT responses. They can explain an idea, organize information, and provide a way to act on that information in one place. With Intelligent UI, OpenAI is making the chatbot a space where answers can become interactive experiences.
