Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 on July 22. It arrives with clear upgrades over previous foldables—sharper cameras and a bigger battery.
The Ultra’s camera setup includes a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 10MP selfie camera. That’s a noticeable step up for ultrawide shots.
Battery life also gets a boost. The Z Fold 8 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery that promises up to 27 hours of video playback. More endurance for a device that often struggles to last a full day.
Under the hood sits a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip. The phone supports up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It’s a powerhouse for multitasking and storage-heavy users.
The Ultra inherits the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s design but starts at a hefty $2,099. It keeps the 7.6-inch inside display and 5.5-inch outside display, but the camera and battery enhancements set it apart.
Samsung also refreshed the Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a redesigned form factor—shorter and wider. It features a new hinge using Flex Titanium display tech and dimensions of 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.1 mm unfolded. The Fold 8 starts at $1,899.
Alongside the foldables, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with a 6.9-inch inside display, a 4.1-inch cover display, and a 4,300mAh battery. It runs the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and offers up to 12GB RAM with storage options of 256GB or 512GB, starting at $1,199.
Wearables also got a boost. The Galaxy Watch 9 comes in 44mm and 40mm models with 1.47-inch and 1.34-inch displays, respectively. Both offer up to 30 hours per charge, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and start at $379.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is the premium wearable with a 47mm size, a 1.52-inch display, and an 800mAh battery. It lasts up to 60 hours per charge, doubles storage at 64GB, and costs $699.
Samsung’s new foldables and wearables show a clear focus on sharper cameras, stronger batteries, and refined designs. The asking prices confirm these remain premium devices for enthusiasts willing to pay for the latest tech.
