Brown wore a gray suit and held a wine glass at the event. The photographs, taken by Patrick McMullan and available on Getty Images, document his connection to Maxwell without establishing any relationship with Epstein.
A Party for Ideapod
Maxwell threw the soirée to celebrate the launch of Ideapod, the social media company Brown started. Ideapod billed itself as promoting positive change, a polished mission statement that now sits beside photographs from Maxwell’s townhouse.
Brown attended the event after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting girls as young as 14. Epstein had been released from prison and placed on the sex offender registry by the time of the reception, making the setting impossible to separate from the record surrounding Maxwell and Epstein.
Maxwell is a convicted collaborator of Epstein, while Epstein was a deceased sex criminal. Brown’s appearance at a Maxwell-hosted event documents contact with Maxwell, but the verified facts do not establish that Brown met Epstein or knew about crimes committed by either person.
Brown’s Denials
Brown strongly denied any relationship, contact, or dealings with Epstein. He said, “I had no relationship, contact or dealings whatsoever with Jeffrey Epstein.”
He expanded that denial by stating, “I never met or communicated with Epstein, had any business, financial, social or other dealings with him, received funding from him, or visited his island.” Brown also said, “Ideapod never received funding or investment from Epstein.”
Brown rejected any suggestion that he or Ideapod had a deeper connection to Epstein or Maxwell’s crimes. “Any statement or implication that I or Ideapod had a relationship with Epstein, received funding from him, or knew about or participated in the crimes of Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell would be false,” he stated.
That distinction matters. A photograph can establish that people attended the same event, posed together, or spoke at a reception; it cannot, by itself, prove a business arrangement, financial connection, or knowledge of criminal conduct. The available facts support the first point and Brown’s denial covers the rest.
Brown is one of three brothers involved in media activities, alongside Lachlan Brown and Brendan Brown. The brothers’ network of sites, Brown Brothers Media, has an estimated 64 million visits per month, giving the family’s media operation a large audience even as this older event draws attention.
