Oracle Bets Big on Google’s Gemini AI for Enterprise Software

Oracle just shook up enterprise software by weaving Google’s Gemini AI into its core business apps. This move sent Oracle’s stock soaring 8.4% to $127.64, a clear signal Wall Street approved the gamble.
Gemini isn’t just any AI model. Google DeepMind recently unveiled Gemini Robotics 2, a system that grants humanoid robots “intelligent whole-body control.” These robots can now pick up watering cans, screw in light bulbs, and tie bin bags autonomously—tasks once reserved for pre-programmed or teleoperated machines.
Gemini combines a vision language model with two vision language action models. This fusion allows robots to understand and act on complex visual and linguistic cues. DeepMind calls this a milestone toward physical artificial general intelligence (AGI).
Demis Hassabis, DeepMind’s CEO, envisions Gemini as the Android operating system for robots. Last year, Google launched its first AI model letting robots operate without internet connections. Gemini Robotics 2 advances that vision with real-world dexterity.
Oracle’s integration places Gemini inside its AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications. It powers embedded AI across Oracle Fusion apps and NetSuite, which serves more than 44,000 customers. Oracle’s CIO Chris Leone emphasized the need for flexibility: “Organizations need the flexibility to choose the AI model best suited to each problem.”
Meanwhile, Rimini Street introduced Rimini Govern™ for AI. This service offers 24/7 AI agent governance, security, and performance management through global command centers staffed by AI engineers. Rimini’s CEO, Seth Ravin, said it enables organizations to deploy AI agents confidently and securely, scaling operations with control and visibility.
Rimini Govern™ addresses a looming problem. Gartner predicts that by 2027, 40% of enterprises will demote or retire autonomous AI agents due to governance gaps. Rimini’s offering aims to close that gap with real-time oversight and ROI measurement.
R ‘Ray’ Wang, CEO of Constellation Research, highlighted the synergy between AI and enterprise software. “When you combine this with proven enterprise software support and deep process knowledge, global managed service capabilities 24/7/365 from Global Command Centers and expansive AI expertise, organizations can now operationalize AI with speed, cost-effectiveness and confidence.”
Oracle’s bet on Gemini marks a key pivot in enterprise AI. Instead of building its own large language models, Oracle chose to embed Google’s cutting-edge tech. This strategy not only elevates Oracle’s apps but also intensifies competition among cloud AI providers.
On the robotics front, Gemini Robotics 2’s demonstration video showed humanoid robots performing household chores with autonomy. This contrasts sharply with most robots today, which handle narrow, repetitive tasks under strict programming or remote control.
Elon Musk has promised between 50,000 and 100,000 Optimus robots by 2026. Gemini Robotics 2’s progress suggests the race to deliver truly agile humanoid robots is heating up. The stakes are high, and so is the ambition.
