Xbox Game Pass June and July Highlights with Big Hits and Departures
Xbox Game Pass is shaking things up with some exciting new games this June and July. The service is adding a mix of big-name titles and fresh indie gems. At the same time, a few fan favorites are leaving the library, so players should act fast if they want to catch them.
One of the biggest new arrivals is Call of Duty: Vanguard, available from June 17. This 2021 shooter enters Game Pass across cloud, console, and PC. It offers full multiplayer and campaign modes, giving subscribers a chance to revisit a solid entry in the series.
The very next day, EA Sports FC 26 hits the service. This soccer game replaces the old FIFA franchise and brings updated teams and gameplay. It’s now available for Ultimate and PC subscribers, matching the recent PlayStation offerings.
June also welcomes some interesting indie and co-op games. Junkster launched on June 16, letting players build crazy vehicles from scrap and race them in wild demolition derbies. Following that, Abyssus, a roguelite co-op shooter, arrives on June 25. Then, on June 30, RV There Yet?, a popular co-op adventure game, joins the lineup. It sold over 4.5 million copies on PC before coming to Game Pass.
June’s Diverse Game Pass Lineup
June’s additions offer a variety of genres. Persona 5 Royal returned on June 9, giving RPG fans a chance to dive into this beloved Japanese role-playing game. It blends turn-based combat with a deep story set in Tokyo and remains a highlight for many players.
Fans of adventure and survival games got new options too. Herdling launched on June 4, letting players guide a herd of creatures through scenic landscapes. Total Chaos, a survival horror game, also arrived that day, offering a tense atmosphere without relying on jump scares.
Other June launches include Solarpunk, a cozy survival craft game set on floating islands, and Undisputed, a realistic boxing simulator with licensed fighters. Both arrived on June 8. Then on June 11, Game Pass added the fast-paced deck-building sim Beastro, the chaotic co-op platformer Frog Sqwad, and the space exploration game Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions.
Looking Ahead to July and Game Pass Changes
July brings more excitement. Early in the month, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 remake will be available on July 2 across all Game Pass tiers. This skateboarding classic offers updated graphics and smooth gameplay for new and old fans alike.
On July 6, a new 2.5D Metroidvania called Winds of Arcana: Ruination will join the service. It promises a compelling mix of exploration and combat on consoles, cloud, and PC.
Later in July, Halo: Combat Evolved will return with a remake. This will bring Master Chief back to Game Pass after five years, giving players a chance to experience the series that started it all with modern visuals and controls.
Meanwhile, some titles will be leaving the service by the end of June. Popular indie games like Slay the Spire and Unpacking will exit alongside classics like Rise of Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider. Game Pass usually offers discounts to buy these games before they leave.
Behind the scenes, Xbox is going through some changes. The head of Xbox Game Studios recently stepped down. Microsoft is reportedly looking to sell or close several studios, including Ninja Theory, Double Fine, and Compulsion Games. These shifts might affect the kinds of games coming to Game Pass in the future.
For now, Game Pass subscribers have plenty to look forward to. The mix of big franchises, quality indies, and co-op adventures keeps the library fresh. Whether you want to race scrap-built vehicles, dive into a classic RPG, or test your boxing skills, June and July have something to offer.
