Two AI Trust Startups Secure $170 Million for Safer Workforces

Two companies focused on trust, safety, and workforce risk have announced funding rounds totaling $170 million. Yardstik has raised $30 million in Series B funding, while Alice has announced a $140 million round, giving both companies fresh capital as they build AI-driven systems for trust and safety.

Yardstik, a workforce technology company, now has $65 million in total capital raised. Alice, an AI trust, safety, and security company, has reached $280 million in total funding and is approaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue.

Yardstik Builds a Continuous View of Workforce Risk

Harbert Growth Partners led Yardstik’s Series B round. Rally Ventures, MissionOG, Crosslink Capital, Grotech Ventures, and Great North Ventures also participated in the funding.

Yardstik plans to use the new capital to develop more fraud prevention and workforce monitoring capabilities. Its platform is designed to maintain a changing picture of workforce risk through continuous monitoring, rather than relying on a single screening event.

That monitoring already covers criminal databases, sex offender registries, federal watchlists, and other records. Yardstik also monitors motor vehicle reports and Office of Inspector General exclusions, with automated alerts for the expiry of licenses, insurance, or certifications.

The practical goal is to give employers current information about people in their workforce. A person’s records and qualifications can change after the hiring process, and Yardstik’s system is built to track those changes through ongoing checks.

Andrew Johnson, CEO of Yardstik, described the timing employers need from these alerts: “If a license lapses the day after someone’s hired, an employer should know that day, not at the next annual review.”

Yardstik is also using AI before the screening process begins. Its Detect AI technology identifies signals linked to identity manipulation and fraudulent applications before screening, adding a fraud prevention layer ahead of the company’s monitoring tools.

Alice Reaches $280 Million in Total Funding

Alice has announced a $140 million funding round led by the Apax Digital Funds. MoreTech and Phoenix Financial joined the round, along with existing investors Resolute Ventures, Grove Ventures, CRV, Highland Europe, Vintage Investments, Norwest, NFX, and Claltech.

The new investment brings Alice’s total funding to $280 million. The company is an AI trust, safety, and security company, and it is approaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue.

Alice is trusted by Anthropic, Google, and Cohere. Those relationships place the company alongside organizations working with AI systems, where trust and safety measures are part of the technology stack.

The funding announcements dated August 27, 2026, and August 25, 2026, show two different applications for AI-based trust systems. Yardstik is focused on workforce screening, fraud prevention, and monitoring records tied to employment. Alice operates in AI trust, safety, and security.

Funding Targets Ongoing Trust Challenges

Yardstik’s approach centers on the fact that workforce risk does not end when a person passes an initial screening. Criminal records, watchlist status, insurance, licenses, and certifications can all require attention after hiring, which is why the company’s platform combines screening with continuous monitoring.

Its Detect AI system addresses another point in the process by looking for identity manipulation and fraudulent applications before screening. Together, these tools cover both the start of an application and changes that may happen later in a worker’s relationship with an employer.

Alice’s funding round reflects a different trust and safety focus. The company has built its position as an AI trust, safety, and security provider, with Anthropic, Google, and Cohere among the companies that trust it. Its nearly $100 million in annual recurring revenue also gives a measure of the business it has built around that work.

Neither company has provided a separate breakdown of how the new funding will be spent beyond Yardstik’s plans for more fraud prevention and workforce monitoring capabilities. Alice’s announcement identifies the funding, its investors, total capital, trusted companies, and annual recurring revenue.

For Yardstik, the next stage is clear: expand the systems that help employers track workforce risk and detect suspicious applications. For Alice, the new capital adds to a company that has raised $280 million while serving the AI trust, safety, and security market.
