Equip Expo Puts Autonomous Mowing and Stand-On Equipment Forward

Three equipment makers are bringing new machines. RC Mowers, Toro, and Ferris Mowers will showcase new products at Equip Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, during the October 20–23, 2026 show. The announcements point to a busy event for commercial landscaping equipment, with autonomous mowing, slope machines, blowers, and stand-on mowers sharing the spotlight.
RC Mowers announced on October 15 that it will unveil a completely new autonomous commercial mower platform at the show. The company will also debut an all-season accessory lineup, giving the announcement a wider scope than another machine added to an already crowded product catalog.
The new RC Mowers products will appear at Booth No. 7056. The company will give dealers and media a first look during the Indoor Trade Show Dealer & Media Preview from 9 a.m. to noon on October 21, with the products unveiled to all attendees beginning at noon that day.
RC Mowers Expands Beyond Its Existing Mower Line
RC Mowers says the new autonomous mower platform aims to help commercial crews cover more ground and increase productivity. The company also plans to expand the capabilities of its R-Series remote-controlled slope mowers, pairing the autonomous platform with new ways to use equipment built for difficult terrain.
“We’re bringing two major innovations to Equip: an all-new autonomous mower and new ways to put our slope machines to work beyond mowing,” said Michael Brandt, CEO of RC Mowers.
RC Mowers currently sells two product categories: Autonomous Mowing Robots and Remote-Operated Robotic Mowers. Its existing autonomous model is the A-60 Autonomous Mowing Robot, which uses a Kawasaki FX730V 23.5 HP engine and a 60-inch commercial-grade cutting deck.
The A-60 has a listed mow rate of 1.5–2.5 acres per hour and a top forward speed of 8 mph with an on-board operator. Those figures provide the clearest existing benchmark for the company’s autonomous equipment, but RC Mowers has not provided specifications for the new platform in the announcement.
Toro and Ferris Bring Stand-On Competition
Toro announced on October 14 that it will showcase two new stand-on platforms at Equip Expo. The lineup includes the AeroMaster™, a dedicated stand-on blower, and a redesigned GrandStand HDM+.
The AeroMaster™ adds a stand-on blower to the equipment being introduced at the show, while the redesigned GrandStand HDM+ gives Toro another platform for its Equip Expo display. The announcement places both products alongside RC Mowers’ autonomous equipment in a show focused on commercial crews and productivity.
Ferris Mowers also announced on October 14 that its Z1-PX stand-on mower is a new option for commercial landscapers. The machine has a 9 mph ground speed and an 8-gallon fuel capacity, giving it a higher listed ground speed than the A-60’s 8 mph top forward speed with an on-board operator.
“The Z1-PX was designed from the operator platform up to help commercial landscapers work faster, stay comfortable and reduce daily operating costs,” said Carissa Gingras, Vice President Marketing Turf & Consumer and Service at Briggs & Stratton.
The Z1-PX comes with a 4-year or 750-hour limited warranty, whichever occurs first. That warranty detail, along with its speed and fuel capacity, gives commercial landscapers concrete figures to compare when the stand-on mower reaches the show floor.
Equip Expo will run from October 20–23 in Louisville, Kentucky, with the key RC Mowers unveiling scheduled for October 21. Autonomous mowing may still be one part of commercial equipment, but this show suggests manufacturers want that part to occupy more of the conversation. They brought hardware to make the case.
